Earn Money With Online Surveys-Is It Worth It?

earn money with online surveysIf you have read my reviews about Swagbucks and Inboxdollars, both of which pay you taking surveys, you would understand that you can earn money with online surveys. It does work. However, Is it worth it? This is a question you need to ask yourself. There are plenty of scams out there, but there are also plenty of legitimate businesses as well. If you have run into somebody saying,

“Earn $3,000 per week! All by just sitting home, drinking tea, and filling out surveys online.”

Then you more than likely have been lied too. But…and there’s always a but. You can make some money doing it, and this is what we are going to dive into today. So, fasten your seat-belt, and prepare for the ride.

How Much Money Can You Earn Taking Surveys Online?

how much money can you earn taking surveys

This is a question, that basically, everyone will ask. What’s the point of doing surveys without rewards, right? So, I wanted to clarify this right off the bat. You will not make a full time living taking surveys. If a website tells you otherwise, they are probably not very ethical.

If you are someone that supposedly makes a full time living taking surveys; please send me the money to my PayPal account(: Obviously your life is “easy.”

On a Serious matter, although I have not found a way to make a full time living just doing surveys(I’m still searching); if there is a possible way, it’s more than likely a private invitation, word of mouth company, that you must have connections for. At least if that is the case, you can verify if it is legit before joining.

As I’m sure you want an example of how much money you can make; I will tell you this. It took me a month and half to make $40 dollars taking surveys. I was doing this for a few hours a day, and that is all I came up with. I’m not a mathematician ,but to give a rough estimate, I was probably making 30-40 cents an hour. On a side note, the one good thing about surveys; sometimes you get entered into drawings that can win you something exciting. Of course, I haven’t ever won anything yet, so your chances are pretty slim.

Anyways, all that time an effort, and this is all I could walk a way with? I was hoping for enough to go to Europe for vacation. Well, I guess I could keep doing it, and maybe even have enough in a year or two. What do you think? You want to waste thousands of hours each year for a measly couple hundred dollars? I didn’t think so.

Why Do People Pay You To Take Surveys?

why do companies pay you to take surveys

Unless your some non-profit company, every business out there is trying to make money (obviously). In order for different companies to make money; they need to understand their consumers needs, Their competitors, as well as whatever industry they are in. Companies do this by performing market research to analyze which types of products and services are in high demand, and what exactly they need to do to be competitive. This will:

  • Reduce the amount of risks for their business
  • Gain insight into what’s trending, and what problems are prevalent
  • Identify opportunities to gain sales

Companies will pay consumers for market research through taking online surveys. They usually give a screener type questionnaire to make sure you fit the demographics of what they are looking for before you take the actual surveys. This is to protect themselves from finding the wrong crowd of people to market towards. Companies will typically pay you from five to ten cents per survey up to usually a few dollars. These surveys can take anywhere from five minutes to an hour to complete.

Do remember though, they aren’t going to pay you a lot because many of the people taking surveys are just randomly clicking different answers without reading the actual questions. this is so they can get through fast and move onto the next survey. Sometimes companies will send you free products to test out instead of paying you money.

These products aren’t typically on the market yet and companies usually ask you to keep it with in your own household to avoid competitors from knowing. It can be cool though testing out things that aren’t yet on the market.

Although it does make sense that a companies are willing to pay you for market research by taking online surveys, I believe this is not a great way to spend your time on a Saturday evening.

Never Pay A Fee To Take Surveys!

never pay a fee to take surveys

These types of websites are usually the scam artist. Like I said, companies want to pay you to gather information. So, why would they charge you first? When you run into websites that you have to pay for, they will usually advertise how you can make thousands of dollars a month for taking surveys.

They will tell you it’s a one time fee to join, and it’s only to pay for the website hosting and information that you can’t get anywhere else. Once you’re inside they give you a list of free websites that you can take surveys at.

They never actually give you surveys themselves. They Just tell you, “Go to this website.”

Usually they will add a referral link for each website. This is so they themselves can make more money off you while you take surveys. They are basically just a middleman that sends you to an already free website.

Do your own research, with Google, and you could’ve found this information without their help. Of course, these websites only pay the pennies and dollars for your hours of work. You won’t make $30 dollars for taking one, five minute survey.

A good rule of thumb to have, when taking surveys, is if somebody is promising high rewards via an Ipad, Laptop, a lot of cash, etc…It is probably bogus. People would just be clicking fast through surveys, and tainting the numbers, if this were the case. This is something the companies are not looking to achieve with their research.

How would this benefit them? If they are promising they know a secret way of making more money with surveys; that’s a lie too. There is no secret to it. You want to make more without taking more surveys? It’s simple, refer others to take surveys as well.

Tips To Avoid Paid Survey Scams And Middlemen

  • Don’t sign up for any website that requires a cost to access paid online surveys
  • Always read privacy statements and disclaimers; be sure to read them like your signing a contract
  • The more a website claims it’s not a scam, the more likely they are luring you into one
  • Research the company; don’t just dive in head first
  • Trust your gut feeling; If it sounds to good to be true, you already know it probably is
  • If they promise you almost nothing; it’s probably legit

So The Hype Isn’t True About Making Good Money With Online Surveys?

People want to believe it. They want to think it’s that simple to make good money. Unfortunately, that is just not the case. Legitimate online surveys are often long and time consuming with very little pay. This is partially why it’s not the case.

There’s not enough hours in the day to make a full time living with this method. In order to make money on the internet working from home; it takes work. The promises about good money with surveys are not realistic.

There are other methods that can produce good results, but not survey taking.

Look at survey taking as a hobby, not a full time income. This is the smartest way to think about survey taking. There are many people that actually enjoy taking surveys, and receiving free products to try out.

Ultimately, It’s just a way of getting a little extra pocket change. By no means, however, will this replace your current job.

Don’t Use Your Personal Emaildon't provide personal email for surveys

This is something that I made the mistake of doing. If you choose to take surveys online, which is perfectly fine, I would not recommend using your personal email account to do this. I’m sure you already know, there are plenty of sources to create free emails with; gmail, yahoo, etc…

The reason I say make a new email is to avoid spam. All these survey companies usually ask for an email, and especially the scammers will sell your information to a third party. To avoid all the unwanted emails, like I have received, it is best to just not mix them together.

Now I have to go through 20 emails before I find an important one because of all the spam I receive. Instead of learning your lesson, it’s just best to start off with an email that you use only for taking surveys.

Survey Taking Conclusion-Is It Worth It?

So, now you understand how it works. I gave you a few tips to avoid scammers, and clarified that there really are legitimate paid survey taking companies out there. Now for the final question. Is taking surveys online really worth it?

I suppose I kind of already answered that too, in the article. Anyways, here’s my advice summed up in a nutshell.

If you are looking to make a full time income, earning money with online surveys is not worth the time. It also is just not realistic. If you are looking to make a little extra cash to say…Go to the movies. Go for it, take some surveys.

Just be sure to caution yourself with which companies you decide to join. Also, NEVER pay a fee. Right off the bat, it should scream in your head, ” It’s a Scam!” Also remember, not every survey you will qualify for. That’s the point of the screener questions; to match up with the right surveys for you.

Now, if you are truly looking for a way to make a full time income working from home, simply click here. This not some overnight get rich scheme. It really does take work to make money at home, but if you put in the time; it will pay off.

It’s free to get started, so it’s just another way of me helping out all those serious entrepreneurs out there. Just don’t expect results overnight, your building a business and I’m not here to promise false lies.

Yes, Many people make a full-time income from home, but it is not taking surveys. So, don’t believe it if they tell you that. Those are the false lies.
